The exhibition conveys the significant role "the steamer" played in Norwegian societal development during the 18th and 19th centuries. It connected urban and rural areas, facilitating an increasing exchange of people and goods between the city and its surrounding areas. The exhibition features many models of well-known steamships that traveled along the coast and into the many fjord branches in Western Norway.
